Now on about our Philosophy and Hennessey
The dramatic combination of rare Trakehner bloodlines and daily training while being nestled in the Tennessee Valley , allows Broad Hill Run Farm to offer a superb beginning for young Trakehners and Sport Horses.
Whichever discipline lies ahead of our horses, careful breeding and development makes for a winning career. Be your passion top level hunters or jumpers, eventing, fox hunting, or dressage, the breed's catlike athleticism and heart make Broad Hill Run Trakehners and Sport Horses a formidable foe in all arenas.
All foals that we birth and raise here at BHRF are imprinted at birth, handled daily and are upstanding citizens by weaning...halter, lead, stand for farrier, vet, clipping, etc...

Broad Hill Run Farm has two locations! The original farm based in Knoxville, TN houses Hennessey, is the primary foaling location and houses training and sale horses.
Our second location is owned by Leslie Smith, our partner. Leslie offers boarding, foals out the overflow and houses some of the sale horses. This farm is located in Greeneville, TN.
We are all very lucky to have such wonderful partnerships!

I am a junior in high school and I am currently looking for a barn to hire me for any work that is needed in exchange for lessons and show opportunities. I attended the Andrews School for my freshman year and there is where I learned to jump. In nine months I went from trotting ground poles to successfully and cleanly jumping 2'6" courses. Since Andrews I haven't had the time, money, or chance to take lessons or show anymore and showing is my ultimate dream. I am great with horses and have been riding since I was a day and a half old and I know I have it in me to be one of the best with help. My mom and I run a training business and I am a hard worker. Please consider what I have said. Thanks for your time.

I am VERY fortunate to have a beautiful Hennessey daughter named Abby with a wonderful personality that is a dream come true. She is built very similar to her sire too. (She's spectacular!) My mare is the perfect family horse, and an absolute gentle giant around my children (especially when she is near my daughter who is in a wheelchair). She is a treasure to ride and show, and exceptionally gorgeous to ride sidesaddle. She brings compliments wherever we are...and willing accepts hugs from everyone, big or small. Trakehners are amazing!

I have a beautiful gelding (Osaka Castle) by Hennesey out of Ophelia. He is truly my horse of a lifetime. Currently showing training level dressage but training first and second level. This is my first Trakehner and I can honestly say it will be hard to ever own a horse of another breed. I was so glad to see your add in this month's Hunter & Sport Horse magazine and to see your web site. Good luck!

I just wanted to say that I was there when "Lori" came into the world! I was a working student at Wonderland Farms and her dam, Liebeslust (Letty) was my project broodmare. I remember the night Lori was born and appeared with that "heart" on her head. She was always such a sweet foal and I am glad to see that she is producing beautiful babies! Her grandmother, Liebesglut (Libby), was owned by my mother in her later years and we loved her so! Your website brings back many happy memories! Thanks!
